As founding principals of Denale, Inc., Denise Lehmann and Alex Plessett strongly believe in responsible building, and are pioneering the green boutique building scene in the Philadelphia area.
Their progressive approach to building is supported by many years of experience in the development community. Both Alex and Denise are seasoned real estate investors and home rehabilitators focused on high-end restorations. Denise is an approved Energy Star builder/partner and has developed, designed and built several luxury townhome developments in Philadelphia which have received Energy Star ratings. Alex has twenty years of experience as a RE/MAX realtor in the Manayunk area and has always been involved in new construction. He currently holds the National Association of Realtors Green Designation.
Their green enthusiasm surpasses the characteristics of “eco-friendly,” and is more appropriately labeled eco-passionate, as their homes exceed green standards and set a precedent in the building community. More specifically, their green homes will save energy, cost less to operate and maintain, are healthier, more comfortable, and more durable and will have less impact on the environment. Thanks to their focus on quality construction and design, they have truly created sustainable environments that seamlessly integrate luxury.
Their efforts have not gone unnoticed, as their premier green development, Sheldon Crossing, is on track to earn the highest level of LEED certification, the Platinum level, and has been a featured topic at the International Builder’s Show as a model for Next Generation Home Building.
Alex and Denise are deeply passionate about setting the standard for green building boutiques everywhere. This passion is rooted not in a desire to follow the green trend, but rather in sincere compassion for the health of our society and environment. Ultimately, they intend to educate the public as well as trade professionals about the distinction between genuine green practices and “greenwashing” (deceptive, disingenuous green attempts). In an effort to continue to stay ahead of the curve and gain a true understanding of green innovation, Alex and Denise constantly surround themselves and consult with environmental and structural specialists. They are professional members of the USGBC, DVGBC, NAHB, PAR, NAR and several other environmental associations.
